Congratulations to all winners and finalists in the 2017 Cleaner Suburbs Awards. Full list of winners here.
If you know someone in Brisbane going above and beyond for our environment, you can recognise their achievement by nominating them for a Cleaner Suburbs Award when nominations open again in 2018.
The Cleaner Suburbs Awards
Brisbane City Council developed the Cleaner Suburbs Awards to champion the achievements of residents and groups who work together for a clean and green city. CitySmart, Brisbane City Council's Sustainability Agency, has partnered to deliver the awards.
Awards are given across eight categories. They recognise individuals, community groups, businesses, workplaces and schools for contributions in the areas of litter prevention, waste management and resource recovery, and waterways catchment health.
Our judging panel for the 2017 Cleaner Suburbs Awards was:
- Louise Dudley - CEO Queensland Urban Utilities
- Paul Klymenko - CEO Planet Ark Environmental Foundation
- Neil Horrocks - CEO CitySmart
The awards are judged by the panel above, except the Litter Prevention Champion Award which is voted on by the public. The annual winners are announced every year in a ceremony at Brisbane City Hall.
